HENU is contributing to 2.5 years project under Mildmay Uganda code named “The Unfinished Business on Paediatric and Adolescent HIV”. This project is funded by the ELMA foundation and is managed by Mildmay Uganda. This project is being implemented in 6 districts of Wakiso, Luwero, Mpigi, Masaka, Mubende, Mityana. The overarching goal of the project is to close the gap in coverage of HIV testing treatment services among children infected with HIV to accelerate the journey to elimination of pediatric HIV and achieving universal pediatric treatment of HIV. At the end of the project, it is expected that over 27,000 children living with HIV will have been tested, identified and linked to care and treatment. We expect that the coverage of pediatric HIV treatment will have increased from 42% to over 50%. Achieving such ambitious target requires the participation of both public and PNFPs, as well as private health facilities where the gap between testing and care is estimated to be high. It is in the same spirit, therefore, that Mildmay entered into collaboration with Health Nest Uganda to implement project activities in Entebbe hospital, Kisubi hospital, Nabweru & Kajjansi HC III.
Under this project, HENU Supports the implementation of all project activities as per the agreed upon MoU and work-plan by both Mildmay and HENU in relation to project specific deliverables.
