Empowerment Across Generations: Our Skills Building Programs
We offer training in crafts, farming, and other income-generating skills to enhance economic opportunities for older persons and their carers
We believe that every individual, regardless of age, has the capacity to learn and contribute. Our skills building programs are tailored to empower both older persons seeking a dignified livelihood and the caregivers who provide for vulnerable children and youths. We focus on practical, sustainable skills that build independence and resilience for the entire family.
This covers training in skills like tailoring, hairdressing,
poultry farming, and small-scale animal husbandry that can be done from home.
Elderly, their caregivers, vulnerable youths, gain a skill that directly translates
into a source of income,
enabling them to meet their basic needs and help them sustain those in their care
This covers training in low-impact, traditional skills such as craft making (basket weaving, mat making), briquette making, small-scale gardening, and poultry farming. Older persons learn a skill that provides them with a sense of purpose, an income, and an opportunity to pass on their knowledge to the next generation
This involves age-appropriate trainings on topics like personal hygiene, health, basic financial literacy (saving small amounts), and social skills. Children are equipped with essential knowledge and confidence, preparing them to live healthy, productive lives as they grow.
Reaching out is a sign of strength. If you or an older person you know needs support, or if you are caring for a child who is struggling, we are here to help. Contact us to schedule a confidential and compassionate consultation
After the loss of her parents, 25-year-old Sarah became the sole caregiver for her two younger siblings. She joined our tailoring and poultry programs. With a new skill and a small business plan, she now runs a successful shop and a small farm with plans of extending it. She is able to pay for school fees, provide meals, and secure a future for her family.
